of Thailand failed to make her second ITF Women title when
she was defeated by her double partner and 3rd seed Akgul
Amanmuradova of Uzbekistan in straight set 2-6, 3-6 in the
$10K LTAT Suan Dusit ITF Women's Circuit at Sport Authority
of Thailand Tennis Center, Bangkok, Thailand earlier today.
" I'm happy to reach the final. I did not expect
to go this far because I just recovered from chicken pox and

Hingis to play her first WTA tour in Pattaya since Filderstadt

Octagon announced today that Martina Hingis has
agreed to play in the Volvo Women’s Open WTA Tour event in
Pattaya next year to raise funds for a number of Thailand’s
leading non-profit organizations, which help women and children
in Thailand who have suffered from abuse, deprivation, homelessness
and illness. “ While I am in Thailand, I am very much
looking forward to spending time with those that benefit from
the good work of the Pavena Foundation, The Father Ray Foundation,
Foundation for the Better Life of Children and the Suthasinee-Noiin
Foundation for Children and Youth." said Martina.
The $170K Volvo Women's Open 2005 will be held 31 Jan - 6
