Open 2004
Friday, January 23 2004
Paradorn
Srichaphan is now reaching the fourth-round at the Australian Open
2004 for the first time on his five appearances in Melbourne Park.
Paradorn defeated the three times French Open champion, Gustavo
Kuerten 6-3,7-5,6-4.
Paradorn has reached the final 16 at the past three Grand Slams,
will be playing No.4 seed Andre Agassi on Sunday, 25 January.
"
I'm really happy that I'm getting through the fourth round, which
is my goal for all the Grand Slam, reaching the second week."
" It's going to be tough. But, yeah, last time I play him (Agassi)
was two years ago in Wimbledon, second round, and I won in three
sets. Well, that is on grass court. And he didn't know my game yet
at that time. It might be a little difficult for me to play him
another time, plus it's on hard court, the Grand Slam that he won
it before. I'm
reaching my goal. But, you know, I'm really looking forward to play
better and to get through to quarterfinal if I could."
In Women's double second round, Tamarine Tanasugarn and Maria Sharapova
was forced to retire after Sharapova got an injury of lower left
leg strain. |
