World 676 ranked Thassha Vitayaviroj of Thailand breezed into the second round of the
$10K Walikota Tarakan Cup in Tarakan, Indonesia Wednesday with an easy 6-0,6-0 win over Utako Suzuki of Japan. The 17-year-old from Ubon Ratchathani now faces Indonesia 2nd seed Liza Andriyani who defeated her in last week. The other Thai girl who also advanced into the second round is Nudnida Luangnam, defeating qualifier Julia Dziedzic of Australia 6-3,6-4. of the $15K Korea Future F1 tournament when he defeated Yuji Ochiai of Brazil in straight sets 6-1,6-2 in final qualifying round earlier today. The ITF has announced the Draw for the 2004 Fed Cup World Group Play-offs today. Thailand will host World Group Fed Cup Playoffs in the tie against Australia which is scheduled between July 10-11 in Bangkok. “ It’s a very tough draw. Molik and Pratt are good singles players and at the same time have high experience in the doubles. But anything can happen in the Fed Cup. So we still have a chance especially if we are inspired by the fans to turn the situation around ’’ said Tamarine.

Paradorn Srichaphan was among 30 ATP players to escape unharmed from fire at Rome hotel Parco dei Principil ai Parioli around 5 a.m. Saturday. He was woken by his father and coach Chanachai, who was staying on the third floor where the fire broke out. Chanachai lost his luggage and passport in thefire.
The Telecom Italia Masters begins Monday. The Thai Paradorn will take on local wildcard Alessio Di Mauro in the first round. In double Paradorn is paring up with Jiri Novak(CZE) will play Jared Palmer/Pavel Vizner(USA/CZE)........ More.
