World No. 67 and Thai Fed Cup team Tamarine Tanasugarn made an early first round exit when she was knocked out by Russia's teenager Evgenia Linetskaya in three set battle 6-2, 5-7, 2-6 at the Dusit Resort Hotel, Pattaya, Thailand earlier today. Tammy should have closed it out when she was serving for the match at 6-2 and 5-2 but the Russian girl saved a match point and fought back to win the match. " It's not easy playing in hometown. I'm playing so well in the first and second set. I expected too much to win but I lost my concentration at the match point. Only one point can change the match, I let her come back. World No. 523 Thassha Vitayaviroj of Thailand had to work hard to reach qualifying second round of the $170K Volvo Women's Open 2005, defeating world No. 144 and second seed Vilmarie Castellvi Castillo of Puerto Rico in a hard-fought three set battle 5-7, 6-1, 6-4 at the Dusit Resort Hotel, Pattaya, Thailand earlier today. " I should have closed out the match when I was leading 4-0 in the third set but I was so tired. I let her come back until at 4-all. However I broke her for 5-4 and serving well to finish the match. " said the Thai 18-year-old from Ubon Ratchathani who will meet Akgul Amanmuradova of Uzbekistan in second round.

Thai twin brother Sonchat and Sanchai Ratiwatana booked their place into the singles main draw of 50K Hilton Waikoloa Village USTA Challengers, when they won the final qualifying round on Monday. Top seeded Sonchat beated Wolf Von Lindenau of USA in straight set 6-0, 6-0 and 2nd seeded Sanchai won 6-2, 6-3 over Kai Ohuchi of Japan.
