The Thai 16-year-old talented girl from Chiang-rai defeated
compatriot Parichart
Charoensukployphol in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.
The top seed faces Kanyapat Narattana in second round. Five
other Thai girls who joined Varatchaya into second round are

round of the $US10,000 fifth NECC-ITF women's tennis tournament
in Pune, India on Monday.
The Thai 18-year-old was in trouble against India's Sonal
Phadke who put up a valiant fight and took the contest into
the decider. But the Thai clinched the endurance test before
winning 7-6(2), 4-6, 6-1. Unseeded Pichittra
Thongdach, a semifinalist of last week $US10,000
Mumbai, joined Thassha into the second round, defeating Vandana

The Thai 15-year-old talented girl from Ratchaburi, who is
ranked 785th, stunned eighth seeded Anja-Vanessa Peter of
Philippines in staright sets 6-1, 6-1. Hathaichanok now face
fourth seeded Indonesia's Lutfiana-Aris Budiharto in quarterfinals.

The Thai No. 1 Tamarine who
is out of the top 100 for the first time in 10 years,
began in style, winning the first set easily 6-1. In the second,
Montinee got into the groove and start to hit well. Tammy
made many unforced errors and lost second set 3-6. Montinee
continued playing well and leading 2-0 in the third set but
Tammy fought back to take a lead 5 - 3. Montinee broke back
to level at 5 - 5. Tammy did not let go the opportunity and
broke Montinee while holding her own serves to prevail 6-1,

Thailand's No. 2 Danai
Udomchoke was knocked out in the first round
by unseed Jan-Michael Gambill in the $US75,000 Music City
Challenger in Nashville, TN, USA on Tuesday.
The Thai 24-year-old who had beaten Jan-Michael Gambill in
the semifinal, 6-2, 7-6(8), in their only previous meeting
at July's 2005 Granby Challenger, had two match points when
he was leading 5 - 3 and 40 : 15 in the final set. But the
American fought back, saving two match points before winning
7-6(5), 5-7, 7-6(5). Danai who has lost five consecutive first
round match in a roll since ATP Thailand Open, will be competing
next week $US50,000 Champaing Challenger for his next schedule.......
