Nicha wins first ITF Junior title

Thailand's 14-year-old Nicha Lertpitaksinchai (ITF-527)
had a successful campaign as she defeated Ysidora Grace Sari of Indonesia in three sets battle 1-6, 7-6(5), 6-4, to capture her first ITF Junior title at the Pangdam Siliwangi International Junior Championships, the ITF Junior Group 4, in Bandung, Indonesia earlier today.
In all, the Thai, a Bangkok native, had eliminated five players along the way - Wine Pramestiningrum of Indonesia 6-1, 6-0 in the first round; Noel Scott of USA 6-4, 6-4 in second round; Indonesia's Mia Sacca 6-3, 6-4 in the quarter-finals, Japan's Mayuki Seki in straight sets 6-3, 6-1 in the semi-finals and rallied from a set down to defeat Ysidora Grace Sari of Indonesia in three sets battle 1-6, 7-6(5), 6-4 in the final.
It was Nicha's first ITF Junior Title in second attempt after reaching the final in Brunei G4 in March 2005. With a good showing in this week, the Thai earned 40 ITF junior ranking points and will jump up to 350 on next ranking announcement after claiming today title........ More

Thailad's 15-year-old Pattrayu Chumpetch (ITF-794) scored a 6-4, 6-3 straight sets victory over Chun-Ming Yam of Hong Kong, to advance to the boy's singles second round in
the Yonex Junior Championships, the ITF Junior Group 4 at Rama Gardens Hotel Tennis Courts , in Bangkok, Thailand earlier today.
Pattrayu, who reached quarter-final in Jakarta G4 and Bandung G4 last weekend, sets up second round
clash with No. 11 seed Pablo Jr. Olivarez of the Philippines. Two other Thai boys who joined Pattrayu to the second round were 15-year-old Sorachet Uayporn (ITF-1218) and 14-year-old Warut Korkiatthaworn. Sorachet, a wildcard entrant, rallied past Sushanth Nambiar of India 7-5, 6-1 while Warut, another wildcard entrant, defeated Alvin-Putra Kurniawan of Indonesia 6-0, 6-4.
In the girl's side, second seed Sophia Mulsap
(ITF-267), who enjoined the first round bye, reached the third round with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Geraldine Leong of Hong Kong. 14-year-old Nicha Lertpitaksinchai (ITF-381), last week's Bandung G4 champion, breezed past Tomoko Iyori of Japan 6-3, 6-3. She will has a tough third round against top seed Hong Kong's Zi-Jun Yang.........More

The biggest surprise of the day Thailad's 14-year-old Nicha Lertpitaksinchai (ITF-381) defeating top seed Hong Kong's Zi-Jun Yang(ITF-95), in two hard-fought tie-break sets, 7-6(3), 7-6(6) to make her way to the quarter-finals of
the Yonex Junior Championships, the ITF Junior Group 4 at Rama Gardens Hotel Tennis Courts , in Bangkok, Thailand earlier today.
The 14-year-old Bangkok native, who has won her first ITF junior title (G4) in Bandung last weekend, next play quarter-finals against fellow No. 11 seed Satjaporn Mahajaroenkul, for a spot to the semi-finals. Two other Thai hope who joined Nicha into the last eight were fourth-seeded Khunpak Issara (ITF-365) and second seed Sophia Mulsap

Fourth-seeded Danai Udomchoke of Thailand has suffered an early exit, losing in straight sets to Ivo Klec of Slovak Republic in the men's singles first round of the $US125,000 Ciudad de Pozoblanco Open Diputacion at Club Tennis Pozoblanco in Cordoba, Spain on Wednesday.
The Thai 24-year-old (ATP-97), was upset by Ivo Klec 7-6(2), 6-4. He is scheduled to play an ATP grass court tournament at Newport in USA next week......... More

the Yonex Junior Championships, the ITF Junior Group 4 at Rama Gardens Hotel Tennis Courts , in Bangkok, Thailand earlier today.
Khunpol, 17-year-old from Bangkok, swept past qualifier
Sitaram Sudanwa of India in three sets battle 6-1, 4-6, 6-1, to sets up quarter-finals clash against second seed Hyun-Soo Lim of Korea, a 6-4, 6-0 victory over thirtheenth-seeded Yusuke Watanuki of Japan. The other Thai hope Apidad Pakpoomkamol did not join Khunpol's success, losing to fourth-seeded Zhuo-Qing Zhou of China in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.

Top seed Khunpak Issara and Sophia Mulsap rallied from a set down to win their doubles title in the Yonex Junior Championships, the ITF Junior Group 4 at Rama Gardens Hotel Tennis Courts , in Bangkok, Thailand earlier today.
Top seed pair of Khunpak and Sophia went down 1-6 in the openning set against pair of Nicha and Uthumporn but recovered well to take the next two sets 6-2, 6-2 to win the title.

In the girl's singles semi-finals, Thailad's
14-year-old Nicha Lertpitaksinchai (ITF-381) failed to pull off a victory against seventh-seeded Vlada Ekshibarova of Uzbekistan despite winning the first set 6-4. The Thai became error-prone which was taken advantage of by her rival who took the second and third 6-1, 6-0

Thailad's 15-year-old Satjaporn Mahajaroenkul (ITF-449) scored a 6-3, 6-1 upset win over last week's Yonex G4 semi-finalists and eighth-seeded Bhavani Tirumurti of
India (ITF-409) to reach the second round of the Mercedes Cup 2006, the ITF Junior Group 4 at Ramkamhaeng University Tennis Courts , in Bangkok, Thailand earlier today.
Satjaporn next play Chun-Wing Sher of Hong Kong (ITF-773) who recorded a 3-6, 7-5, 7-5 win over USA's Kristin Yep in a marathon match lasting almost 4 hours. Three other Thai girls who lost in the first round were sixth-seeded Prariyawat Ratanakrong
(ITF-388), wildcard Jaruwadee Kaewma and Ratchaya Chaichanachaicharn (ITF-1020).

Second seed Sophia Mulsap (ITF-267) and fifth-seeded Nicha Lertpitaksinchai (ITF-299) maintained their good form
to reach the second round of the Mercedes Cup 2006, the ITF Junior Group 4 at Ramkamhaeng University Tennis Courts , in Bangkok, Thailand earlier today.
Sophia, 16-year-old from Bangkok, rallied past fellow wildcard entrant Natchanok Saenyaukhot in straight sets 6-4, 6-1 while 14-year-old Nicha outclassed qualifier Kyra Shroff of India 7-5, 6-3. Five others Thai girls who joined Sophia into the second round were third-seeded Khunpak Issara, Uthumporn Pudtra, Hathaichanok Saenyaukhot, Parichart Charoensukployphol and Prang Pantusart.
In the Boy's side,
Pakpoomkamol's brothers ( Phaninthon and Apidech ) reached the second round with a straight sets victory. Phaninthon defeated Lakshit Sood of India 6-1, 6-1 while Apidech ousted Sudanwa Sitaram 6-3, 6-3. Qualifier Kitipong Taruwan had to fight hard before defeating Hong Kong's Darren NG 6-3, 5-7, 6-2. Unseeded Danai Udomchoke of Thailand has suffered another early exit, losing in straight sets to American's wildcard Sam Querrey in the men's singles first round of the $US380,000 Campbell's Hall of Fame Tennis at International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, USA on Tuesday.
The Thai 24-year-old from Bangkok, who dropped 15 places to 112 in world rankings after losing the first round of Wimbledon last week, went down to the American in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 lasting 61 minutes.
In doubles, pair of Danai and Igor Kunitsyn of Russia reached the quarter-finals with a 3-6, 6-3, (10-7) victory over the Briton's brothers Andy Murray and Jamie Murray......... More

of the Mercedes Cup 2006, the ITF Junior Group 4 at Ramkamhaeng University Tennis Courts , in Bangkok, Thailand earlier today.
Currently ranked 1804 in world junior, Prang, a Chiangmai native, who played only two International junior tournaments since last year (Suphanburi, Thailand G1 in March 2005 and Bangkok, Thailand G4 in July 2006), sets up quarter-finals clash with
fifth-seeded Nicha Lertpitaksinchai (ITF-299) who recorded a 6-2, 6-4 win over Achiraya Sriprom. Second seed Sophia Mulsap (ITF-267) reached the last 8 with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Angelika Aliev of Israel.

second seed Peerakit Siributwong (ITF-196) defeated qualifier Natchina Jermpatbunya in straight sets 6-4, 6-2.

Second seed Sophia Mulsap (ITF-267) maintained her winning run, scoring a 7-5, 6-4 win over Japan's Ayumi Yoshida to set up a final clash with fifth-seeded Nicha Lertpitaksinchai (ITF-299) in
the Mercedes Cup 2006, the ITF Junior Group 4 at Ramkamhaeng University Tennis Courts , in Bangkok, Thailand earlier today.
Sophia, 16-year-old from Bangkok, is eyeing her first ITF junior title after losing in the final in last month's Jakarta G4. She will battle for the trophy against
fifth-seeded Nicha Lertpitaksinchai (ITF-299) who defeated her doubles partner Uthumporn Pudtra (ITF-476) in the other semi-finals. Playing three matches in yesterday, Uthumporn who upset seventh-seeded and last week G4 champion Vlada Ekshibarova of Uzbekistan, drained her energy and ran out of gas in her semi-finals match against Nicha. She was forced to retire after trailing 0-6, 0-3 due to a cramp on her both legs.
In the Boy's side,
second seed Peerakit Siributwong (ITF-196) reached the semi-finals with a 6-3, 7-6(2) victory over seventh-seeded Hong-Bo Deng (ITF-272) of China. The Thai next play No. 14th seed Akash Wagh of India for a place in the finals.
