Eighteen year-old Nudnida Luangnam and former SEA Games National player Attapol Rithiwattanapong captured National Tennis Championships Titles ( Baht1,000,000 ) at Rama Gardens Hotel, Bangkok earlier today.
Top seed Nudnida, ranked 494th in the world, had an easy time handling fellow second seed Thassha Vitayaviroj with a 6-0, 6-3 to win the title for the first time. Trailing 0-6 in the first set and 0-2 in the second, Thassha who was playing her left thigh injury, fought back and took a lead 3-2. But Nudnida built up her confidence back, breaking her rival two times before prevailing 6-3 in the second.
In Men's singles final, 26-year-old and 16th seed Attapol Rithiwattanapong won the title for the second time since 1999 with a four greulling sets 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 7-6(2) victory over fourth-seed Ekkarin Pisuth-Arnonth, lasting 4 hours and 14 minutes......... More
