$US380,000 Tennis Channel Open when
he was defeated by sixth-seed
James Blake
of USA in straight sets 6-7(3), 0-6 in the men's singles first
round on Tuesday night.
The Thai 26-year-old was up a break and serving for the first
set at 5-3 but he squandered a double set points in his service
game. Paradorn also wasted a couple break points when the
American was serving at 4-5 and 5-6. After losing a tight
first set tie-breaker 6-7(3), the Thai appeared to run out
of gas and went down 0-6 in the second set......... More

today.
Top seed Nudnida, ranked 494th in the world, had an easy time
handling fellow second seed Thassha
Vitayaviroj with a 6-0, 6-3 to win the title
for the first time. Trailing 0-6 in the first set and 0-2
in the second, Thassha who was playing her left thigh injury,
fought back and took a lead 3-2. But Nudnida built up her
confidence back, breaking her rival two times before prevailing
6-3 in the second.
In Men's singles final, 26-year-old and 16th
seed Attapol
Rithiwattanapong won the title for the second
time since 1999 with a four greulling sets 4-6, 6-4, 6-4,
7-6(2) victory over fourth-seed Ekkarin Pisuth-Arnonth,

on Monday.
Ranked No 151 in the world, the Thai 28-year-old who has reached
her career-best at 19 in May 2002, has yet to get it past
the main draw first round after playing five tournaments since
the start of this season. She has qualified for the main darw
