Sixth-seeded Paradorn
Srichaphan of Thailand was the seeded players
to fall on a day in the men's singles first round of the €302,000
BMW Open, in Munich, Germany earlier today.
The Thai 26-year-old (ATP-36) who has yet to get it past the
first round after playing two tournaments on clay ( Monte
Carlo and Barcelona ), was knocked out by unseed Juan Monaco

Tangphong of Thailand made an early first round
exit when she was defeated by eighth-seeded Carly Gullickson
of USA in straight sets 6-1, 6-0 in the women's singles first
round of the $US50,000 Kangaroo Cup International Ladies at
Kangaroo Memorial Center, Gifu, Japan earlier today.
Two other Thai girls, seventh-seeded Suchanun
Viratprasert plays Lauren Breadmore of Australia
while unseed Napaporn
Tongsalee meets Japan's Junri Namigata in their
first round match tomorrow.
In qualifying, Thailand's teenager Nudnida
Luangnam failed to pull off a victory, losing
6-3, 7-6(2) to fifth-seeded Japan's Mayumi Yamamoto in the

The Thais got off to a fine start
in the Junior Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Zone qualifying today
with a 3 - 0 victory over Myanmar at the Sarawak Lawn Tennis
Association center in Sarawak, Malaysia earlier today.
Thailand's 15-year-old Peerakit
Siributwong opened up with
a 6-1, 6-0 win over Kyaw-Naing Aung of Myanmar
in the first single. Kittipong
Wachiramanowong put Thailand 2 - 0 lead with
a 6-0, 6-1 win over Min-Thaq Phyo.
The Thais, which is in group 3, seeded fifth behind Australia,
Japan, Korea and China, completed the sweep when Sorachet
and Peerakit posted a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Aung
and Phyo in the doubles.
All 21 teams were devided into six groups. Each group will
play in a single round robin with the top team in each group
and the top two teams based on the quotient system advancing
into the quarterfinals. The eight teams will play in a single
round and the top three will advance in the World Group........

6-0 easily win over wildcard Denise Harijanto of Indonesia
to advance to the second round of the $US10,000 Mitra Kencana
Women's Circuit at Jakarta Hilton Executive Club in Jakarta,
Indonesia earlier today.
The Thai teenager will have a tough second round against Septi
Mende of Indonesia who recorded a 6-1, 6-1 victory over fellow

Vitayaviroj (WTA-597) of Thailand rallied from
a set down before defeating Etsuko Kitazaki of Japan 6-7(3),
6-3, 6-3, to advance to the second round of the $US10,000
Mitra Kencana Women's Circuit at Jakarta Hilton Executive
Club in Jakarta, Indonesia earlier today.
The Thai 19-year-old had a tough start. Trailing the opening
set 6-7(3), she fought back and played consistently to outplay
the Japanese rival in a match that lasted 3 hours and 10 minutes.
" I was very tired. She (Kitazaki) was very strong
when we had long rally. But I can pull off a win with my good
serve. " said Thassha who will play second round
against Vivien Silvany Tony of Indonesia who defeated fellow

while Kittipong
Wachiramanowong sweep past Hamad Ismail
Janahi 6-2,
6-1 in the second single. Pair of Sorachet and Peerakit

the second round, rallied past Japan's Junri Namigata in three
set battle 2-6, 7-5, 6-4, to advance to the quarter-finals
of the $US50,000 Kangaroo Cup International Ladies at Kangaroo
Memorial Center, Gifu, Japan earlier today.
The
Thai 23-year-old,
seeded seventh, who could not find her rhythm, losing 2-6
in the first set. She tried too hard to get back in the game
before convincing 7-5, 6-4 in the second and third set. Suchanun
next play quarter-finals against another Japanese Erika Takao
who recorded 5-7,

Thais boys progressed into the quarterfinals ( knock-out stage
) of the Junior Davis Cup Asia/Oceania qualifying Zone with
a 2 - 1 victory over Chinese Taipei at the Sarawak Lawn Tennis
Association center in Sarawak, Malaysia earlier today.
The Thais, who defeated Myanmar and United Arub Emirates on
Day 1 and Day 2, is the winner of group 3 after beating seventh-seeded
Chinese Taipei 2 - 1 in today matches. Fifteen-year-old
Peerakit
Siributwong continued his winning way, eased
past Yu-Chi Chang in straight set 6-2, 6-1 in the first single.
In the second single,
Kittipong Wachiramanowong gave Thailand 2 - 0
winning lead with a 6-3, 7-6(7) victory over Tsung-Hua
Yang. In the double, Pair
of Sorachet and Peerakit went down 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 to
pair of Hung-Yi Yeh and Tsung-Hua Yang.
Australia(1), Japan(2), Korea(3), China(4),
Thailand(5) and Uzbekistan(8) are the winner of their respective
groups and Chinese Taipei as well as New Zealand progressed
by virtue of being the two best second placed teams at the
end of group engagements.
Thailand, seeded fifth, will take on fourth-seeded China tomorrow
in the first round of the knock-out stage of the eight teams
and the top three will advance in the World Group........

maintained their winning run with an upset win over the strong
China team in the quarterfinals ( knock-out stage ) of the
Junior Davis Cup Asia/Oceania qualifying Zone at the Sarawak
Lawn Tennis Association center in Sarawak, Malaysia earlier
today.
The Thais made a strong claim for one of two third birth in
the World Group to be held in Barcelona, Spain in September
after winning the first two singles over China in a 2.5 hours
of rain-delayed matches. Peerakit
Siributwong outclassed
Chuan Jiang in three set battle
4-6, 6-4, 6-2 in the first single. Kittipong
Wachiramanowong help send
Thailand to the semi-finals with 6-4, 6-3 win over Chen-Yu
Wu in the
second single.
The top four teams who advanced
to the semi-finals are
top seed Australia ( defeating New Zealand 2 - 1 ), second
seed Japan ( defeating seventh seed Chinese Taipei 2 - 0 ),
third
seed Korea ( defeating 8th seed Uzbekistan 3 - 0 ) and fifth
seed Thailand ( defeating fourth seed China 2 - 0 ).
Thailand will meet second seed Japan while top seed Australia
