| Parichart wins second consecutive title in Pakistan G5 |
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, September 02, 2006
Thailand 15-year-old Parichart Charoensukployphol (ITF-487) captured her second ITF Junior title after defeating compatriot and top seed Prariyawat Ratanakrong 6-3, 6-1 in the final of the Pakistan ITF Junior International Championship circuit 2, a ITF Junior Grade 5 in Islamabad, Pakistan on Friday.
The Thai 15-year-old who is training with Frank Cuesta (Bolletieri Master Coach), lifted up her second trophy without dropping a set in two week. In all her winning way, the Thai, a Bangkok native, was on fire, keeping her winning streak going to 7-0. She had eliminated two seeded players along the way - second seed Vishakha Sheoran of India in the semi-finals round and top seed Prariyawat Ratanakrong in the final.
With the victory, Parichart won her second consecutive titles in the last two weeks, capturing title at last wek Islamabad circuit 1 and circuit 2 this week. She awarded another 30 computor ranking points for this week winner and, together with the 30 points she has already earned as the winner of last week's circuit 1. She will jump up from 685 to 350 in junior ranking on next ranking announcement.
In doubles, top seed pair of Thailand's Prariyawat Ratanakrong and Vishakha Sheoran of India won their second consecutive title with a 6-4, 6-3 win over second seed pair of Mohana Chintala of Pakistan and India's Karina Ahuja.
In the boy's side, the Thai-USA duo Krittanu Puthong and Ryan Cheung also won their second consecutive double title after defeating the Lakshit's brother pair of Lakshit Sood and and Lakshit Chandril in three sets battle 6-2, 2-6, 6-1........ More

Thailand's juniors Khunpol Issara (ITF-332) and Pattrayu Chumpet (ITF-795) progressed to the Boy's single second round of the 8th Sarawak Chief Minister's Cup, a ITF Junior Group 3, at Sarawak Lawn Tennis Centre in Sarawak, Malaysia on Tuesday.
Twelfth-seeded Khunpol, 17-year-old from Bangkok, scored a 7-5, 6-1 win over Prajnesh Gunneswaran of India while 15-year-old Pattrayu easily saw off Singapore's Min Sylvester Wee in straight sets 6-1, 6-3. Unfortunate two other Thais did not join Khunpol and Pattrayu into the second round. Krittanu Puthong (ITF-537) went down to Malaysian wildcard Mohd Fazree Said in straight sets 7-6(3), 6-0 while Sorachet Uayporn (ITF-1230) was defeated by Pablo Olivarez of the Philippines in three set battle 76(4), 3-6, 6-1.......... Thailand's 15-year-old Pattrayu Chumpet (ITF-795) upset world junior number 275th and tenth-seeded Gilbert Tsz Chun Wong of Hong Kong 6-1, 6-2, to move into to the Boy's single third round of the 8th Sarawak Chief Minister's Cup, a ITF Junior Group 3, at Sarawak Lawn Tennis Centre in Sarawak, Malaysia earlier today.
Twelfth-seeded Khunpol Issara (ITF-332) was unable to get past the second round when he was knocked out by Vijayant Malik of India in three set battle 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.
In the girl's side, four seeded players from Thailand advanced to the third round. Fourth-seeded Sophia Mulsap (ITF-190) had no problem handling Malaysian wildcard Sarah Lim Wan Lin in straight sets 6-2, 6-0 while eighth-seeded Khunpak Issara (ITF-288) defeated another local Malaysian Lyn See Choo 6-3, 6-1. 16-year-old Uthumporn Pudtra (ITF-380), seeded No. 14th, had to fight hard before winning 7-6(3), 7-6(4) over Magdalena Osterle of Austria. Number 16th seed Benyapa Phumtip (ITF-582) needed an extra effort before defeating Meng Lin Li of Taipei in three gruelling sets 6-3, 4-6, 7-6(2). Thailand's 16-year-old Uthumporn Pudtra (ITF-380) was the only Thai hope in the singles main draw after the third round matches were finished on day three in the 8th Sarawak Chief Minister's Cup, a ITF Junior Group 3, at Sarawak Lawn Tennis Centre in Sarawak, Malaysia earlier today.
Seeded No. 14th in the 48-player main draw, Uthumporn, took compatriot and fourth-seeded Sophia Mulsap (ITF-190) out of the competition with a 6-1, 6-2 victory in the third round. The Thai next play Malaysian wildcard and ninth-seeded Jawariah Noordin for a spot to the semi-finals.
Two other Thai girls could not get past the third round. Eighth-seeded Khunpak Issara (ITF-288) went down 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 to twelfth-seeded Janaki Gunuganti of India while number 16th seed Benyapa Phumtip (ITF-582) was sent packing with a 6-3, 6-1 defeat to second seed Bianca Swanepoel of South Africa in the third round.

Thailand's 25-year-old Danai Udomchoke (ATP-122) was given a scare by Marco Chiudinelli (ATP-188) of Switzerland before winning in a three sets battle 0-6, 6-2, 6-3, to advance to the second round of the $US500,000 China Open in Beijing, China earlier today.
The Thai got off a slow start, losing the openning set 6-0. Then he recovered to take the next two sets 6-2, 6-3 to win the match. It was the first meeting of the two players on the ATP pro-circuit. The pair had previously played twice before on the Challenger circuit with the Thai native winning the first one at the 2003 Granby, Canada, while Chiudinelli won the next meeting in the 2004 Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
" In the first set Chiudinelli served so well and I tried to hit the winner too much but I miss everything. I played better and was up an early break in the second set, then he started to miss the shots. " said Danai after the match.
Sixth-seeded Paradorn Srichaphan joined Danai into the second round after defeating Rainer Schuettler of Germany in straight set 6-3, 6-3.........More

Thailand's 23-year-old Suchanan Viratprasert (WTA-259) had suffered an early exit, falling 7-6(2), 6-4 to ninth-seeded Aiko Nakamura (WTA-74) of Japan in the women's singles first round of the $US225,000 Wismilak International 2006 in Bali, Indonesia earlier today.
The Thai was up a break and serving for the first set at 5-4 but could not capitalise on her opportunity. The Japanese hammered her way back to win 7-6(2), claiming the tie-break seven points to two. Thailand's number two Danai Udomchoke (ATP-122) made his quarter-finals debut on ATP pro-circuit, after eliminating seventh-seeded Ivo Karlovic of Croatia in the men's singles second round of the $US500,000 China Open in Beijing, China earlier today.
The Thai 25-year-old, who reached his career-best of 95 in May 2006, advanced to the quarter-finals for the first time of his career when Karlovic retired hurt after he was trailing 2-6, 1-3 due to a knee injury.
" Today I played well and was confident to beat him. I returned serve well and kept the ball in play. I tried to move him around when I had chances. " said Danai who will next play world number 9 and third-seeded Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus, a 7-6, 6-4 win over Taiwan's Yeu-Tzuoo Wang, for a spot to the semi-finals.

Thailand's young juniors continued their winning way to advance to the boy's and girl's singles quarter-finals after the second round matches were finished on day three in the World Junior Tennis Championships, a ITF Junior Group 4, at Kuala Lumpur National Tennis Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia earlier today.
Sixth-seeded Khunpak Issara (ITF-303) outplayed Isabella Reibmayr of Austria in straight sets 7-6(0), 6-4 while seventh-seeded Uthumporn Pudtra (ITF-308) easily saw off India's Neesha Thirumalaichelvam in straight sets 6-0, 6-1. Paradorn and Davydenko are 2 - 2 in their head to head meetings with the Russian winning the latest in New Haven 2006.
