Thai star Tamarine Tanasugarn has suffered an early first round exit from the US$600,000 Bausch & Lomb Championships, making it her first defeat on clay of this year in Amelia Island, Florida, USA on Monday.
Currently ranked No.68 in the world, Tammy, fell 6-3, 6-1 to No.13 seed Sybille Bammer(WTA-29) of Austria. It was the second meeting between the pair with the Thai 29-year-old having won the first tie in WTA Bangkok 2006. .. ....... More

Fourth-seeded Peerakiat Siriluethaiwatana (ITF-47) bounced back in time to beat New Zealand's Sam Gould (ITF-206) 6-2, 3-6, 6-0 in the second round of the Dunlop Japan Open Junior Tennis Championships, an ITF junior grade 1 at Higashiyama Park Tennis Center in Nagoya, Japan earlier today.
The Thai 17-year-old talented boy from Kampaengpetch, sets up the third round clash with No.16 seed Borut Puc (ITF-180) of Slovenia.
In the girl's side, Thai junior No.1 and sixth-seeded Noppawan Lertcheewakarn (ITF-56) fought back from one set down to defeat local qualifier Masae Nabetani 2-6, 6-1, 6-0. Three Thai juniors booked their place to the quarter-finals after the second round matches were finished on day two of the ITF 14 & Under Asian Championships (Group 1) week 2 at Kemayoran Tennis Center in Jakarta, Indonesia earlier today.
Fourth-seeded Luksika Kumkhum, 13-year-old from Chantaburi, reached the quarter-finals after defeating Uzbekistan's Karolina Chernaya 6-3, 6-2. Sixth-seeded Napatsakorn Sankaew beat Elena Zenko of Uzbekistan 6-4, 6-3, to set up the quarterfinal clash with Indonesia's second seed Cynthia Melita.
In the boy's competition, Warit Sornbutnark upset eighth-seeded Sanjar Fayziev of Uzbekistan in three greulling sets 7-6(4), 6-7(7), 6-3. Unfortunate, Tosaphon Yuennan bowed to Korea's Suk Young Jeong 6-1, 6-0 .. ....... More

| Luksika stuns top seed Ysidora to reach first final in Jakarta U-14 |

Fourth-seeded Luksika Kumkhum, one of the rising star of Thai tennis overcame the ranking gap of 800 places to upset top seed Grace Sari Ysidora of Indonesia, to reach her first final in the ITF 14 & Under Asian Championships (Group 1) week 2 at Kemayoran Tennis Center in Jakarta, Indonesia earlier today.
It was a sweet revenge for Luksika as she had lost to Ysidora 4-6, 7-5, 7-5 in the semi-finals of last week circuit 1. The Thai 13-year-old from Chantaburi, ranked only 1012 in junior, revenged her loss when the Indonesia top seed world junior No.233 retired at 6-7(4), 1-2 down. Luksika sets up the final clash with another Indonesia second seed Cynthia Melita(ITF-870).
In the boy's competition, Warit Sornbutnark failed to make the final when he was defeated by fourth-seeded Guan Yu Cao of China in three sets battle 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 .. ....... More

Thailand was down 0-2 against Hosts Japan after the both singles rubber matche s were finished on day one in their Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Asia/Oceania Zone Group 1 Second Round at Namihaya Dome, Kadoma Sports Center, Osaka earlier today.
Thai team was down 0-1 after 17-year-old Kittipong Wachiramanowong(ATP-1507), who is making his Davis Cup debut, went down 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 to Japan's No.1 Go Soeda(ATP-233) in the first single rubber. Tennis veteran Takao Suzuki(ATP-322) has given Japan a 2-0 lead after he took just one hour and 37 minutes to defeat Weerapat Doakmaiklee(ATP-855) 6-4, 6-2, 6-3 in the second single rubber.
The double rubber will be playing tomorrow with Thai twin brothers Sonchat and Sanchai Ratiwatana (currently ranked 109th and 110th in the world), will take on Japanese pair of Takao Suzuki and Satoshi Iwabuchi (ranked 587th and 331st in doubles). Thailand No.1 Tamarine Tanasugarn (WTA-66) squandered a 5-4 lead in the first set before falling 7-5, 6-1 to Italy's No.16 seed Mara Santangelo(WTA-30) in the first round of the US$1,340,000 Family Circle Cup in Charleston, USA on Tuesday.
Tammy was serving for the first set at 5-4 but Santangelo managed to break back before prevailing 7-5, 6-1. It has been more than 4 years since Tammy last won a match on clay. Her last win came at WTA Sarasota in 2003. .. ....... More

The 15-year-old from Chiangmai, used the combination of deep groundstrokes and accurate passing shots to beat sixth-seeded Denise Dy in straight sets lasting 1 hour and 15 minutes. It was a sweet revenge for Noppawan as she had lost to the Fil-American 2-6, 5-7 in the round of 16 at Manila G1 two week ago.
