| Kittipong stuns top seed to reach Delhi Final |
NEW DELHI India, January 12, 2007
Eleventh-seeded Kittipong Wachiramanowong (ITF-258) made his final debut in the ITF Junior Group 2 when he knocked out top seed Rifat Biktyakov (ITF-113) of Uzbekistan in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 in the semi-finals of the DLTA Junior Tennis Tournament at DLTA Complex Tennis Stadium in New Delhi, India earlier today.
Kittipong, who reached his career-best of 134th in world junior in January 2006, sets up the final showdown with sixth-seeded Jerzy Janowicz (ITF-165) of Poland in tomorrow final.
The Thai 16-year-old, a member of the Junior Davis Cup team, is eyeing his first title of ITF Junior Group 2 after winning two titles in Bangladesh Group 4 in January 2004 and in Bangkok Group 4 in November 2006.
In girl's doubles semi-finals, second seed Sophia Mulsap and Khunpak Issara rallied from a set down before defeating sixth-seeded pair of Russia's Nanuli Pipiya and Aleksandra Kolesnichenko of Uzbekistan 0-6, 6-1, 6-3. | Nuttorn-Huang win doubles title in Gosford |

Thailand's Nuttorn Tanchainant and Liang-Chi Huang of Chinese Taipei ended their summer tour of New South Wales Australia by claiming the boy's doubles title in the 2007 Optus 14s National Hardcourts, the 14 & Under Series Sponsored by Australian Open at Gosford Tennis Center in Gosford, Australia earlier today.
The Thai-Taiwan duo, seeded sixth in the doubles draw, was too powerful for New Zealand's eighth-seeded pair of Barrett Franks and Matthew Johnson. They prevailed the one-side match without dropping a game, 6-0, 6-0, to win the title.
In boy's singles, wildcard entrant Nuttorn Tanchainant is one step away from producing the boy's singles title after he took out his rival in the semi-finals match earlier today. The Thai 14-year-old from Patumthani, ousted New Zealand eleventh-seeded Barrett Franks in straight sets 6-4, 6-0 to set up the title clash with home favorite and seventh-seeded Jason Kubler from Queensland of Australia.......... Thailand's 16-year-old Kittipong Wachiramanowong (ITF-258) failed to capture his first ITF Junior Group 2 title after bowing to sixth-seeded Jerzy Janowicz (ITF-165) of Poland in a close match 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the boy's singles final of the DLTA Junior Tennis Tournament at DLTA Complex Tennis Stadium in New Delhi, India earlier today.
In all, the Thai, a Song-khla native, had eliminated three seeded players along the way - eighth-seeded Akash Gujrathi in the third round; fourth-seeded Vijayant Malik in quarter-finals; and upsets top seed Rifat Biktyakov in semi-finals.
With a good showing in this week, Kittipong earned 75 ITF junior ranking points and will jump up to 135 on next ranking announcement after claiming today title .

Thailand's 14-year-old Nuttorn Tanchainant lifts up the boy's singles runner-up trophy after losing to home favorite and seventh-seeded Jason Kubler from Queensland of Australia in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 in the boy's singles final of the 2007 Optus 14s National Hardcourts, the 14 & Under Series Sponsored by Australian Open at Gosford Tennis Center in Gosford, Australia earlier today.
Nuttorn, who have earned international wildcards into the 128-player main draw, became a giant killer as he has taken out the tournament three sedded players along the way - third seed Ben Wagland in the third round; No. 13rd seed Farinola Damian in the quarter-finals; eleventh-seeded Barrett Franks in the semi-finals. Good results also for Nuttorn in doubles. Thailand's Junior No. 1 Noppawan Lertcheewakarn 's Australian Open Junior preparations advanced to the second round, defeating wildcard entrant Holly Cao of Australia in straight sets 6-4, 7-5 in the openning round of the Optus Nottinghill International, a ITF Junior Grade 1 Tournament at Nottinghill Pinewood Tennis Club, Melbourne, Australia earlier today.
Ranked 49th in world junior, the Thai 15-year-old talented girl from Chiangmai, is the lone Thai advancing to the second round after her fellow were out from the competitions yesterday. Noppawan next meet Natasa Zoric of Serbia who recorded a 6-3, 6-2 upset win over Russian tenth-seeded Alexandra Panova. Varatchaya Wongteanchai (ITF-68) was defeated by Mexico's eighth-seeded Valeria Pullido-Velasco 6-1, 6-1 in the girl's singles first round.

Thailand's No. 1 Tamarine Tanasugarn (WTA-72) crashed out of the Australian Open 2006, losing 6-3, 6-2 to Russian fifth-seeded Nadia Petrova in women's singles first round at Melbourne Park Tennis Center in Melbourne, Australia earlier today.
Ranked No. 6th in the world Petrova, who blasted 10 aces comapared to 4 for Tamarine, proved too good to defeat the Thai in 6-3, 6-2 in women's singles first round.

Thailand's 16-year-old Parichart Charoensukployphol (ITF-307) and 15-year-old Benyapa Phumtip (ITF-449) stormed to the girl's singles quarter-finals after the competitions on day 2 were finished in the TechnoMarine JR Tournament, an ITF Junior Grade 5 at Victoria Park Tennis Center in Hong Kong, China earlier today.
Top seed Parichart defeated So-Hee Kim of Korea, 6-2, 6-4, to set up a quarter-finals showdown with China's Xi Bai while second seed Benyapa downed local favorite Ho-Ching Wu, 6-4, 6-2, to take on seventh-seeded So-Yeon Kim of Korea, for a spot to the semi-finals.
In the boy's side, 15-year-old Sorapon Imprapai (ITF-583) and 16-year-old Grittaboon Prahmanee (ITF-928) advanced to the boy's singles third round. Thailand's 16-year-old and eighth-seeded Kittipong Wachiramanowong (ITF-137) easily saw off Indian Kaushik Das, 6-3, 6-3, to progress to the second round of ONGC Junior-Kolkata, an ITF Junior Grade 3 at DKS Sports Complex in Kolkata, India earlier today.
Kittipong, who jumped 121 places to 137 in world junior ranking after finishing runner-up in New Delhi G2 last weekend, will take on Shiva Sangwan of India, for a spot to the quarter-finals. Fifth-seeded Khunpol Issara (ITF-215) beat Indian Karanuday Singh in three set battle 6-3, 5-7, 6-1 and will take on Indian qualifier Christopher Marquis.
In the girl's side, three Thai girls successfully moved past the openning round. | Danai makes Grand Slam third round debut |

Thailand's tennis star Danai Udomchoke's dream of making it to the third round of Grand Slam event became true when he knocked out former world No. 1 and No. 24 seed Juan Carlos Ferrer (ATP-24) of Spain 7-6(0), 7-5, 4-6, 6-1 in men's singles second round at Melbourne Park Tennis Center in Melbourne, Australia earlier today.
The Thai 25-year-old (ATP-103) had a break down in both sets ( first and second ), he managed to break back to win the game and then played consistently to outplay the Spaniard No. 24 seed in a match that lasted 3 hours and 23 minutes.
" I'm happy with the way I played today. I don't feel any pressure playing Ferrero because of I has already achieved my goal (made it past the first round of Australian Open). Ferrero is tough to beat because he is very consistent from the baseline. I tried to play more aggressive. That's the reason why I made many unforced errors. I got cramp on my thigh at the end of the third set. It's getting better after I received a massage treatment. " said Danai who moved past the second round of Grand Slam event for the first time of his career.
The Thai, who reached his career-best of 80 in November 2006, will next challenge Serbian's No. 14 seed Novak Djokovic (ATP-15) who recorded a 6-2, 7-5, 6-1 win over Spaniard Feliciano Lopez, for a place to the fourth-round.
" Djokovic is very hot. He plays like a top ten players. I have to keep the ball deep and don't give him a short balls. I have to play my best tennis to beat him. " add Danai ........ More

Sophia defeated Deepna Vazirani of India, 6-1, 6-1, to sets up quarter-final clash with sixth-seeded Anastasiya Vasylyeva of Ukraine. Another two Thai were out from the competitions.
