Parichart lone Thai hope in Hong Kong G5

Thailand's 16-year-old Parichart Charoensukployphol (ITF-307) is the lone Thai left in the competitions after the quarter-finals matches were finished on day 4 in the TechnoMarine JR Tournament, an ITF Junior Grade 5 at Victoria Park Tennis Center in Hong Kong, China earlier today.
Top seed Parichart ousted China's Xi Bai , 7-6(1), 6-1, to set up a semi-finals showdown with another Chinese girl Bo-Yan Wang. Second seed Benyapa Phumtip (ITF-449) was knocked out by So-Yeon Kim of Korea 6-1, 6-0.
In the boy's side, 16-year-old Grittaboon Prahmanee (ITF-928)
went down 6-2, 6-3 to Min-Wook Cho of Korea in the boy's quarter-final contest......... More

Kittipong stuns top seed in Kolkata G3

Thailand's 16-year-old Kittipong Wachiramanowong (ITF-137) continued his impressive form, stunning top seed Rifat Biktyakov (ITF-113) of Uzbekistan in 119 minutes 7-6(6), 7-6(4) boy's singles quarter-finals of ONGC Junior-Kolkata, an ITF Junior Grade 3 at DKS Sports Complex in Kolkata, India earlier today.
It was Kittipong's second victory over Biktyakov after defeating the Uzbekistan top seed in last week New Delhi G2. Kittipong, singles runner-up in New Delhi G2 last weekend, will take on local wildcard entrant Yuki Bhambri (ITF-662) who scored a 6-1, 6-2 win over qualifier Christopher Marquis, for a berth to the finals.
In the girl's side,
top seed Sophia Mulsap (ITF-136) rallied from a set down before prevailing sixth-seeded Anastasiya Vasylyeva of Ukraine in three set battle 2-6, 6-4, 7-5. The Thai next play third-seeded Nadia Lalami (ITF-148) of Morocco for a place to the finals.......... More

Djokovic ends Danai's fine run in Australian Open

The lone Asian hope Danai Udomchoke's great run in the Australian Open ended with a 6-3, 6-4, 5-7, 6-1 defeat at the hand of Serbian's No. 14 seed Novak Djokovic (ATP-15) in men's singles third round at Melbourne Park Tennis Center in Melbourne, Australia earlier today.
The Serbian rising star began in style with big serves and powerful groudst
rokes to win the first and second set in 85 minutes. Djokovic, who blasted 15 aces, was two points away from the victory when he was serving at 5-4 in the third set. But the Thai 25-year-old, who knocked out 2003 French Open champion Juan Carlos Ferrero in the second round, put up a valiant fight to break back and took the contest into the fourth set. The Serbian world No. 15 clinched the endurance test with three service breaks to win the match, which lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes in a four sets battle victory.
" I'm happy with my achievement. All credit to Djokovic. He played really well and deserve to win. In the first and second set, I had a few chances to break him but he saved them with his great serves. After I took the third set, I did not have energy to run any more. " said Danai who won gold medal in Doha Asian Games last month.
" I came here, I beat Ferrero, second round. Now I know I can have that good performance. It make me more confident. It's my goal, one day to reach the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam. " add Danai who now will be heading to play challenger tournament in South Africa........... More

Thailand's 16-year-old Parichart Charoensukployphol (ITF-307) moved a step closer to the girl's single title when she beat Bo-Yan Wang of China, 6-3, 6-3, to advance to the final of the TechnoMarine JR Tournament, an ITF Junior Grade 5 at Victoria Park Tennis Center in Hong Kong, China earlier today.
Top seed Parichart will be seeking her third junior title after capturing two Grade 5 title in Islamabad, Pakistan in August 2006. The Thai next play the final against seventh-seeded So-Yeon Kim (ITF-732) of Korea......... More

Eighth-seeded Kittipong Wachiramanowong (ITF-137) rallied past local wildcard entrant Yuki Bhambri (ITF-662), 6-2, 6-4 in 74 minutes, to advance to the boy's singles final of the ONGC Junior-Kolkata, an ITF Junior Grade 3 at DKS Sports Complex in Kolkata, India earlier today.
It was Kittipong second final appearance in two week. The Thai 16-year-old will be seeking his first Grade 3 junior title after finishing runner-up in New Delhi G2 last weekend. He sets up the final showdown against seventh-seeded Jeong-Han Seo (ITF-238) of Korea.

Kittipong Wachiramanowong (ITF-137) took the boys' single crown after beating seventh-seeded Jeong-Han Seo (ITF-238) of Korea, 6-1, 6-4, in 83 minutes boy's singles final of the ONGC Junior-Kolkata, an ITF Junior Grade 3 at DKS Sports Complex in Kolkata, India earlier today.
It was Kittipong's first-career junior Grade 3 title after capturing two Grade 4 titles in Dhaka, Bangladesh in January 2005 and in Bangkok, Thailand in November 2006.
With a good showing in two week tour of India, Kittipong, who has been selected to join the Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand's rising stars programme since April 2006, awarded another 60 computor ranking points for this week G3 champion and, together with the 75 points he has already earned as the runner-up of last week's New Delhi G2. He will break into the ITF junior singles Top-100 (around 85) for the first time by next week.......... More

The other two Thais also went out from the competitions yesterday. " My racket was not here. My tennis bag went to Cape
Town. I have to borrow racket and shoes from my friends. It's not easy to play with the racket that you never practice. I was lucky to win and hope to get my tennis bag today. Second seed Danai Udomchoke (ATP-102) was ended his fine run with a 6-4, 6-2 defeat by the hand of France's world No. 219 Mathieu Montcourt at Westridge Park Tennis Stadium in the $US125,000 Durban South Africa Airways Tennis Open in Durban, South Africa earlier today.
Now Montcourt was leading 2-0 in their head to head meetings against the Thai 25-year-old, with the Paris native winning the first one at the US100,000 Besancon challenger in France last year.
" I was playing injury my leg and my back. It was not that serious but it bothered my movement. He (Montcourt) did not make any mistake
and he tried to move me run. I played OK but could not move at all and that was it. " said Danai after the match............ More
