| Napaporn defeats Montinee to enter R2 in Incheon |

Thailand tennis veteran Napaporn Tongsalee(WTA-299) improved her head-to-head records to 2 - 2 against Fed Cup team-mate Montinee Tangphong(WTA-309) when she defeated the 22-year-old from Samutsakorn in three sets 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 in the US$25,000 Incheon Women's Challenger at Incheon Tennis Municipal Tennis Courts in Korea earlier today.
Fourt-seeded Napaporn, who reached her career-best at 229th in October 2005, sets up the second round clash with American Amber Liu(WTA-481) who recorded a 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 win over Japan's Remi Tezuka in the other first round.

Five Thai girls defeated their rivals to advance into the second round at the start of the US$10,000 Mitra Kencana Open at the Kemayoran Tennis Center in Jakarta Indonesia earlier today.
Fifth-seeded Nungnadda Wannasuk(WTA-674) ousted qualifier Fil-American Denise Dy in straight sets 7-5, 6-3, to set up the second round clash with compatriot Sasirin Borwornchokchai(WTA-1246), a 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 victory over Indonesia's Karyn Emeralda. Two other Thais who joined Noppawan Lertcheewakarn to the second round are Penporn Chantawannop and Daowadueng Phonkan. Fifteen-year-old world No.684 Noppawan Lertcheewakarn easily saw off 1094th ranked Tomoko Taira of Japan, 6-1, 6-0, to progress to the quarter-finals of the US$10,000 Mitra Kencana Open at the Kemayoran Tennis Center in Jakarta Indonesia earlier today.
Noppawan, sixth-seeded in the tournament, will play quarterfinal against Slovenia's third-seeded Tadeja Majeric who scored a 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 win over Thai qualifier Penporn Chantawannop. Thailand fail to make it to the World Group Finals |

Thailand's campaign to make it to World Group Finals collapsed today after they fell to fourth-seeded Japan 0-3 in the quarterfinals (knock-out stage) of Asia/Oceania Qualifying Junior Davis Cup at the LTAT National Tennis Center, in Nonthburi, Thailand.
Host Thailand lost both singles in straight sets as both Sorapon Imprapai and Pattrayu Chumpet were defeated at number one and number two singles respectively. Sorapon went down to Shuichi Sekiguchi 6-3, 6-4 while Pattrayu fell to Ko Suzuki 6-3, 7-6(5).

Sixth-seeded Noppawan Lertcheewakarn (WTA-684) scored a 7-6(3), 6-7(4), 6-4 upset win over second seed Tara Iyer(WTA-538) of India in a three hour marathon semifinals match, to progress to the finals of the US$10,000 Mitra Kencana Open at the Kemayoran Tennis Center in Jakarta Indonesia earlier today.
Ranked 684th in WTA tour and 54th in world junior, the Thai 15-year-old talented girl from Chiangmai, reached her first-career final on the ITF women's pro-circuit after playing six tournaments since last year. Noppawan, who has been selected to join the Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand's rising stars programme since April 2006, sets up the final showdown against the winner between fifth-seeded Nungnadda Wannasuk(WTA-674) and qualifier Wukirash Sawondari of Indonesia.
" It was good match today as we both played well. She (Iyer) is a good player. I was happy to win today. Tomorrow it will be a tough final match for me. I will try my best to win my first final tomorrow. " said Noppawan after the match.......... More

It is very interesting final showdown between the two young Thai rising stars. Thailand 17-year-old Nungnadda Wannasuk(WTA-674) secured her third career ITF Women's Circuit title after defeating younger compatriot and sixth-seeded Noppawan Lertcheewakarn (WTA-684) in the women's singles final of the US$10,000 Mitra Kencana Open at the Kemayoran Tennis Center in Jakarta Indonesia earlier today.
Following her solid win against 27-year-old former SEA Games gold medalist Wukirash Sawondari in the semis, Nungnadda, rallied from a set down before defeating 15-year-old Noppawan in three sets battle 3-6, 6-4, 6-3, to capture her third career titles in senior level after capturing two ITF(US$10,000) titles in Nigeria and in Pune, India last year.
" It's always a good feeling to win a tournament. In the first set, she (Noppawan) played really well and I made too many unforced errors. In the second, I went for my shots whenever I have good opportunities after having long rallies. She did not move that well in the third set I think because of she got tired from yesterday long semifinal match. I was happy to win today. Top seed Nudnida Luangnam(WTA-309) had a successful campaign to claim the ITF Women's single title when she fought back from a set down before beating Italy's Lisa Tognetti(WTA-671) 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the final of the US$10,000 Vic Challenger tennis tournament at Club Tennis Vic in Spain earlier today.
The Thai 20-year-old from Sukhothai, who is now training in tennis programmes in Spain, became the first Thai woman to win a tournament on clay in Europe. Seventh seed Napaporn Tongsalee(WTA-299) was given a scare by Aussie qualifier Shannon Golds before winning in three sets 7-6(3), 6-7(4), 6-2, to progress to the second round of the US$25,000 Gimcheon Women's Challenger at Gimcheon Total Sports Town Tennis Club in Korea earlier today.
The Thai double specialist went down 6-7(4) in the second set but recovered in time to take the final set 6-2 to win the match. Unfortunate, Montinee Tangphong(WTA-366) did not get past the first round, falling to Korea's Jin-Hee Kim in three sets battle 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.
